Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate is a non-contact team sport played with a 175 gram flying ultimate disc. General Ultimate Frisbee Rules goes as follows: The object of the sport is to score points by passing the ultimate disc to a player in the opposing end zone, similar to an end zone in American football or rugby. Ultimate requires both athletisicm and endurance. Ultimate is a fast growing sport and comonly played on university campuses and parks world wide. Basic ultimate rules involve two teams. One team pulls the disc to the other as in a kick-off senario. Once the receiving team gains possession of the ultimate disc or ultimate frisbee disc then the ultimate frisbee players pass the disc to their teammates to advance up the ultimate field toward the end zone. The opposing ultimate team attempts to thwart the offense by intercepting the disc or (more commonly) knocking the disc to the ground during a pass. Ultimate Discs and Ultimate Frisbee Discs

There is often some confusion about the terms "ultimate disc" and "Ultimate Frisbee". That is because "Frisbee®" is a regestered trademark name (a brand name if you will) when it is often assumed to be a general flying disc. Frisbee® is an owned trademark of Whamo, hence the "Whamo Ultimate Frisbee discs." Many people refer to ultimate discs that are not Frisbees as "frisbee discs" despite Whamo owning the Frisbee name trademark for that disc. It's like people referring to tissues as Kleenex, no matter what brand name it actually is, or how some people assume that all broadband come from http://www.o2.co.uk/ which is not the case. However the official ultimate disc of the Ultimate Players Association (UPA) is the Discraft Ultra-Star which introduces the phrase "ultrastar frisbee". There is no such thing as an "ultrastar frisbee disc" nonethelesss you can understand the meaning.
